Spain Government Initiatives The SME portal of the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce gives access to information, support and subsidies for SMEs. This webportal stimulates innovation and research collaborations involving companies. Regional government initiatives The regional government of Navarra is investing in nanotechnology through the Development Society SODENA, including in a venture capital fund dedicated to nanotechnology. Public and Private Organisations The Research centre INASMET specialises in materials including surface treatment, nanocoatings and nanocomposites. They offer a range of research and technology services to SMEs and start-ups. The Centre for Electrochemical Technologies is a service foundation for the electrochemical industry. They offer R&D and related services to SMEs in energy, surface finishing and new materials. The National Centre for Microelectronics includes research institutes in Madrid, Barcelona and Sevilla. Their activities include assistance to SMEs in consultancy, design and fabrication, industrialisation and training. Trade Alliances and Networks This network aims to integrate atomistic TCAD tools in existing conventional Computer Aided Design packages. The Spanish Network in Microsystems and Nanotechnologies is sponsored by the Spanish Sensors Group (GES) and involves public and private research partners. The Phantoms foundation manages and coordinate several national and international nanotechnology networks. A pan-European network in nano-electronics. The national nanotechnology network including research groups at universities, research centres, foundations and in industry. This is the Spanish national technology platform in nanoelectronics, which participates in the EU Technology Platform ENIAC.
