Directions to the Physics West Building at the University of Birmingham: By rail: all inter-city trains to Birmingham arrive at New Street Station. From here take a train to the University (final destination Longbridge or Redditch on the Cross-City line). There are up to 6 trains per hour and journey time is about 10-15 minutes. From the train station turn left and head up the hill towards the tower (5 minutes walk). The Physics West building is opposite this tower (Law) across the lawn. By car: from the M6- leave at junction 6 (Birmingham central) to join the A38(M). At the end of the motorway, keep to the right, go over a flyover, then through 3 underpasses to join the A38 Bristol road. The University is on the right, two and a half miles south of the City centre. M42- leave at junction 8 to join M6 northbound and follow above directions. M5- leave at junction 4 (sign-posted Birmingham SW) to join the A38. The University is approx. 8 miles north. M40- head onto M42 (south), exit junction 1 and follow A38 north (as for M5 directions). By air: take the skytrain from Birmingham International airport to Birmingham International railway station. There is a frequent service from here to Birmingham New street (approx. 20 minutes).
